September 5, 2018 Regular Meeting

STILLWATER TOWNSHIP RECREATION COMMISSION

The regular meeting of the Stillwater Township Recreation Commission was held on August 6, 2018 at 7:09 pm at the Stillwater Municipal Building, Stillwater, NJ. The meeting was called to order by Commission Chairman David Manser with the statement read that this meeting is in compliance with the Open Public Meetings Statement and the flag salute.

Members Present: Mrs. Connelly, Ms. Hess, Mr. Manser

Members Absent/Excused: Mrs. Delaney, Mr. Sylvester

Members Suspended: Mr. Ashley, Ms. Richardson

MINUTES

Motion by Mr. Manser seconded by Mrs. Connelly, that the minutes from the regular meeting of August 6, 2018. Motion carried.

BILLS

The following bills were presented – Camp Coumselors (Durso – $324.00; Franco $360.00; Nelson $288.00; Ogar $ 355.50; Peter $144.00; Kramer $180.00; Richardson $288.00; McCabe $324.00; Waldo $72.00; Waldo $360.00; Ferrari $180.00; Tosti $820.00) for a total of $3,695.50. Motion by Mr. Manser, seconded by Ms. Hess to approve the bills. Motion carried.

CORRESPONDENCE

Letters read that were sent by the Secretary to A Royal Flush and to the Stillwater Historical Society.

SUB COMMITTEE REPORTS

  1. Field Use / Maintenance – Ms. Hess has the copy of the “punch list” from Josh at DPW. It was reviewed. She will update it and send to all for review before forwarding updated copy to DPW. Date for the bleachers installation postponed until our next meeting as not enough here to decide.
  2. Summer Camp – Summer Camp went well. We brought in over $4,000 and our expenses were about $3,970.50. It was a great time. Mrs. Connelly mentioned that her son attended and said it was the best summer camp he attended.
  3. Decorating Contests – Ms. Hess will make the flyers and get them to the Town to post on the website and to Mrs. Delaney to put on our Facebook page. Deadline for Halloween will be 10/29 and Holiday will be 12/19. This will give us all time to go look and make a choice at the next meeting following deadline.
  4. Tree Lighting – Mrs. Connelly asked that we keep the tree lighting at the school this year and it was okayed. Date is 12/7. We will discuss further at next meeting. Motion by Ms. Hess, second by Mr. Manser that Ms. Hess purchase the candy canes for the Stillwater School children. She will get the total number from the school. Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS

1. Field Use –

a. AMENDED Application from Kittatinny Midget Football. All paperwork is in. Veterans Soccer Field from 8/1/18 – 10/31/18 8am-12pm Saturdays only for flag football. Motion by Ms.Hess, second by Mr. Manser to approve. Motion carried.

b. Application from Kittatinny Youth Lacrosse Club. All paperwork is in. Veteran’s Field from 9/9/18 – 11/4/18 57:308p weekdays and Sat. 12:30-6:00pm and Sun. 9:30am – 6:00pm (this is using the time relinquished by amended application from Kittatinny Midget Football) Motion by Ms. Hess, second by Mrs. Connelly to approve. Motion carried.

COMMITTEE MEMBER COMMENTS

Mr. Manser mentioned that Mr. Scott has insurance certificate for a softball league. He’ll get it to us.

Mr. Scott was unable to attend due to a family emergency

There being no further business, motion by Mr. Manser, second by Mrs. Delaney and Mr. Sylvester to adjourn the meeting at 7:42pm. Motion carried.
