Duties
The Chief Financial Officer oversees the Finance functions, and is responsible for the correct financial reporting, budget preparation, investment of idle funds, and sound budget spending practices for the municipality.

Duties
The Finance Clerk is responsible for processing the bills for the township, and ensures the bills are paid in a timely fashion. As a municipal government, the Township of Stillwater is required to use a system of encumbering costs and creating purchase orders to pay all bill, which requires approval of the Township Committee at their regularly scheduled meetings.

The Finance Clerk is also responsible for depositing of general township funds, escrow maintenance, payroll, and performing many duties of the chief financial officer in the daytime hours.

The state of New Jersey requires all vendors doing business with the Township to provide a W-9 and a copy of their business registration certificate. Additional information can be located on the New Jersey Division of Revenue’s website.
