RECREATION COMMISSION

The reorganization meeting of the Stillwater Township Recreation Commission was held on February 5, 2018 at 6:30 pm at the Stillwater Municipal Building, Stillwater, NJ. The meeting was called to order by Commission Secretary Tami Richardson with the statement read that this meeting is in compliance with the Open Public Meetings Statement and the flag salute.
Members Present: Mr. Ashley, Mrs. Delaney, Ms. Hess, Mr. Manser, Ms. Richardson, Mr. Sylvester
Members Absent/Excused: Mrs. Connelly
Election of Officers:
Chairman: Motion by Ms. Hess, second by Mrs. Delaney to elect Mr. Manser to serve as Chairman. Motion carried with Mr. Ashley voting no.
Vice Chairman: Motion by Ms. Hess, second by Mr. Sylvester to elect Mrs. Delaney to serve as Vice Chairman. Motion carried with Mr. Ashley voting no.
Secretary: Motion by Mrs. Delaney and after some discussion, seconded by Mr. Sylvester to elect Ms. Hess to serve as Secretary. There was discussion with regards to having the secretary as a board member vs. non-board member. Mayor Chammings answered this question pointing out that the last time it went out to the public, only 3 applications were received, 2 of which are current board members and the 3rd person withdrawing her application. None of the current office help are interested in the position. The Chairman called for the vote. Motion carried with Mr. Ashley voting no.
Next up was the meeting schedule. The following dates were presented. Feb. 5, Mar. 5, Apr. 2, May 7, June 4, Aug. 6, Oct. 1, Nov. 5, Dec. 3 and Jan. 7, 2019. Open for discussion was July (due to the 4th of July) and Sept. which always falls on Labor Day. Discussion was held on this and it was decided to go with July 2 and Wed. Sept. 5th. Motion by Mrs. Delaney, second by Mr. Manser to accept these dates. Motion carried unanimously.
The secretary will have these printed in the NJ Herald, as required.
Motion by Mr. Sylvester, second by Mr. Manser to adjourn this meeting at 6:55pm All in favor.
