WORKSHOP MEETING MINUTES

Tuesday April 11, 2023

A REGULAR MEETING of the Stillwater Township Committee was called to order by Mayor Chammings at 4:05 p.m. noting the meeting date, time and place were sent to the New Jersey Herald and posted at the Town Hall, on the Township’s website and advised those present that this meeting was being held in compliance with provisions of Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 231 P.L. 1975 P.L. 1975, Chapter 231, Sections 4 & 13.

Roll Call: PRESENT: Mrs. Delaney, Mr. Barta via Telephone (4:11 p.m.), Mrs. Rumsey, Mr. Scott, Mayor Chammings

The flag was saluted.

LETTER IN SUPPORT OF GRANT APPLICATION:

Mayor Chammings noted the Environmental Commission was going to apply for the 2023 ANJEC Open Space Stewardship Grant for Environmental Commission for $1500 to use toward updating the Open Space Plan. A letter of support from the governing body is a requirement of the application.

A motion was made by Mrs. Rumsey to have the clerk prepare a letter of support to be signed by the Mayor representing support of the grant application from the governing body, seconded by Mrs. Delaney. Roll Call Vote: Mrs. Delaney, yes, Mr. Barta, absent for vote, Mrs. Rumsey, yes, Mr. Scott, yes, Mayor Chammings, yes

COMMUNITY CENTER DISCUSSION:

The main target projects for the Community Center

  • The Roof: Drawings are being finalized by the architect and the Township will be going out to bid soon. Mayor Chammings noted the moving of the vents to the roof is not on the original plans and will confirm that change will be made
  • The Front Door: The Township is waiting to hear from the 2023 Local Recreation Improvement Grant awards to complete this project.
  • The Vestibule: The Township is waiting to hear from the 2023 Local Recreation Improvement Grant awards to complete this project.
  • Maintenance Contracts: For furnaces (2 at community center) and generator

The clerk will speak with DPW Acting Supervisor to discuss coordination of furnaces and generators maintenance contracts throughout township buildings.

  • Properly secure the propane tank by installing bollards around the tank
  • Additional Pickle Ball Court – will be considered if funding available.

The clerk discussed with the Township Committee a resident, Mr. Grossi, has sold his home and through the title search it was discovered the two lots he purchased from the Township, (previously merged into his lot 25), were never recorded and proof of when those lots were purchased was being investigated so a new deed can be prepared and recorded simultaneously with the new deeds for the sale.

There being no further business, Mr. Scott made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 5:00 p.m., seconded by Mrs. Rumsey. In a voice vote, all were in favor.
