The Stillwater Town Hall will be open as a cooling center from 11:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday July 4th and Sunday July 5th.

The Stillwater Recycling Center will be closed on Saturday, July 4, 2026. It will reopen on Sunday, July 5, 2026 from 9am to 3pm.

The Recycling Center will remain open 1 hour later on Sunday to accommodate the closure on Saturday due to holiday.

This past weekend, Stillwater & Hopatcong CERT teams joined forces with the Hopatcong Search & Rescue K-9 Unit for a hands-on Search & Rescue training exercise at Veterans Park.

Volunteers worked through real-world scenarios, including locating evidence from a missing hiker, practicing mapping and compass navigation, and gaining firsthand experience with drone technology and K-9 search operations. Participants also learned how to effectively operate within a command center, coordinate in large teams, and utilize radio communications in the field.

A total of 31 dedicated volunteers took part in the exercise, demonstrating teamwork, skill-building, and a shared commitment to keeping our communities safe. Thank you to all the volunteers & the K-9 unit for their time & efforts.

Part-time Electrical Sub-Code Official/Inspector- Stillwater Township

Under the direction of the Construction Official, the subordinate administrative responsibility for administering the electrical subcode of the State Uniform Construction Code within Stillwater Township, and inspects electrical work in construction projects underway to ensure that compliance with plans and specifications approved in accord with the State Uniform Construction Code is achieved; does other related duties. FULL-TIME LABORER/TRUCK DRIVER DPW POSITION

JOB DESCRIPTION

Stillwater Township is accepting applications for a full-time Public Works Truck Driver/Laborer. Under immediate or general supervision, performs various types of manual, skilled, and semi-skilled tasks involved in the maintenance of public buildings, parks, grounds, and roads. Duties include but are not limited to chipping, landscaping, leaf/brush collection, shoveling, plowing, storm sewer maintenance, road work, paving, building and grounds maintenance, cleaning, and other duties related to public works projects as assigned and as needed. Must be able to lift 90 lbs. High School diploma or equivalent required. Candidate must be customer service oriented and possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, officials, and the general public. Must possess the ability to follow directions and complete assigned tasks with established deadlines. A valid New Jersey Driver’s CDL Class B License in good standing is required. Will be required to work in adverse weather conditions and on an emergency basis when needed. 40 hours per week. JCP&L will be conducting a planned interruption of electric service in order to safely perform necessary repair work on Friday, March 27, 2026.

 Customers will experience a power interruption from approximately 6:00pm – 6:15pm.

 Affected customers will be notified directly by JCP&L via a reverse call.

 An estimated 650 customers will be affected in the vicinity of East Shore Drive.

Just a reminder: the Stillwater Recycling Center will be open on Saturday, April 4, 2026 with extended hours due to Easter. On April 4, the Recycling Centers hours will be 9am-4pm. the Recycling Center will be closed on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
