Minutes of July 20, 2022
The regular meeting of the Stillwater Township Planning Board was held at the Municipal Building. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Pierce at 7:30 p.m. He announced that adequate notice of this meeting had been given to the public and the press under the provisions of the “Open Public Meetings Act”, N.J.S.A 10:4-1 et.seq.

Chairman Pierce opened the meeting up to the public at 7:32 p.m. With there being no public comment, the meeting was closed to the public.

OLD/NEW BUSINESS:
Master Plan Reexamination
Mr. Pierce stated that we have received a draft Master Plan Reexamination Report and he stated that we will invite Ms. Gable to the next meeting. The Board also discussed whether the Zoning Officer may have any recommendations. The Board continued to discuss the vision of the Township, EV stations, prior goals and objectives, karst geology, storm water management and shared services and who is responsible for the implementation of the various goals (farmland preservation, recreation conservation, housing, etc…). The Board also discussed the purpose of the Master Plan in supporting the vision/goals/objectives of the Township and planning for the future and the process. The Zoning Officer may have some ordinance recommendations. The Board also discussed some of the topics that have been on the agenda: Barns/Family Farms, short term rentals regulations, …etc. The Board also reviewed some of the outstanding items/issues and it was agreed to invite the Zoning Officer and perhaps a representative from the DPW and Environmental to listen (informational session) to provide input and/or report back to their departments/Boards. The Board also discussed the request from the Board Engineer to not seek reappointment in 2023 and the resignation of Ms. Raff.

Liaison Updates-Committee, Mayor, Board of Adjustment, and Environmental
Mayor Scott and Mr. Barta provided the Committee update, which was discussed with the Board: meeting with the DEP, new dump truck, grant application with DOT, resignation of Recreation Member and Environmental Commission Member, signs, hiring of DPW laborer position, and status of unpaid taxes.
Ms. Schemm provided the Zoning Board of Adjustment update: 4 hearings scheduled for Monday night.

The meeting was opened to the public. With there being no public comment, the meeting was closed to the public.
ADJOURNMENT:
With there being no further business, there was a motion made and seconded to adjourn the meeting. In a voice vote, all were in favor at 8:27 p.m.
