Welcome:
Welcome to all our new members, we appreciate you volunteering on our CERT Team.

Old Business:
1. CERT Basic Training Course held on November 12th-16th: 23 participants completed the training.
2. Stillwater CERT team added 4 newly trained volunteers.
3. Work session was held on November 21st to put together bird feeders to donate to the families for the Annual Tree Lighting Event.
4. CERT Course was posted in the Township Journal on January 2, 2025, along with a photo. Maureen sent a copy of the article to all the members. Hard copies are available.

New Business:

CERT Program Coordinator Maureen Tsadilas – Report

January 14th: CERT program coordinator’s meeting was held on ________. Discussed the joining CERT teams training together, the new responsibilities of coordinators, and monthly tracking forms necessary for 2025. Also discussed educational community events with State Police and Sheriff’s Office. For example, the 3rd Annual Water Safety Fair.

It has been decided that some community events had to be removed rom the calendar to make room for upcoming necessary trainings.

January 14th: Lisa, Ilene, and Maureen met to discuss the purchasing of more volunteer gear, a laptop, and additional necessary equipment for training purposes and community events.

January 16th: ‘Stop the Bleed’ Training was held in the OEM/CERT office. Instructor/Trainer Dwane Banghart trained 7 CERT members.

January 16th: 3 new CERT members signed up. The team now consists of 11 members.

January 21st: Maureen met with John Dixon, Public Safety Director for Sussex County, on a Fire Safety Training at the Fire Academy. John is fully supportive of the CERT Program and is willing to assist when he can. We are working on an April date to run a drill.

Thank you cards were sent to the instructors who taught the Basic CERT Training Course. Maureen also gave each one a CERT Award Coin.

Appreciation card and donation was given to the Stillwater Fire Department for all they did to ensure the training course was a success and for allowing CERT to use the hall for 3 nights of training.

If anyone has a contact through home/work for anyone in the safety field that would be interested in speaking at a CERT meeting, please have the, contact Maureen. With new members comes new opportunities within our community and county.
