Welcome:
Introduction of our new members to the Stillwater CERT volunteer team

Old Business:
Thank you to Carol and Ilene for running the July meeting. Thank you, Carol, for arranging the presentation given by Darrian Scott from ‘Maverick Legacy.’

Community Firewise Program is still in the planning stages. Next step is to speak to our town officials about presenting the program to the residents at a community open house. Maureen is working with the fire department liaison for this program, Brandon Smith.

New Business:
Mayor Lisa Chammings –  OEM Report

Fire and EMS Report – EMS 362; Fire 149

Maureen is working with Steven Sugar and Patrick Freeland about running a 2nd County CERT Basic Training Course. Dates and location for September or October are being concerned.

Maureen is working with the NJ Fire Prevention Agency to set up a work shop for the CERT Volunteers, anticipated for September but date TBD.

CERT is happy to announce the addition of two positions, Technical Support and Liaison Reporter, have been filled. Technical Support is Ilene Schwartz, and Liaison Reporter is Michelle Vosper.

Hopatcong CERT is organizing a Train Derailment Disaster Training. More details to follow.

Maureen is working with Patrick from Ramapo K9 Search and Recovery, waiting on the team to set up a training date for September. This training would consist of both land reaches and water recovery.

Wilderness Training will consist of 2 days. You will receive a certification at the end of the training course. It will be held at the Fairview Lake YMCA Camp. NO OVERNIGHT.

Sign ups are needed for our next two community events: September 14th Sussex County Day at the Fair Grounds in Augusta and October 11th Fall Feast at Stillwater School.

Just a reminder that the CERT November meeting will be held on Wednesday the 19th due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Meeting location will be forthcoming. CERT does not meet in December.
