CERT Community Service Program was held on April 7th. Presented by Department of Health & Human Services. Rae Ann Gerow covered Caregiver Support and the many Senior Programs available. Attendance has increased for these events. Thank you to all the CERT volunteers who assisted with setting up and cleaning up.
On April 12th, the Community Helmet Safety event took place at the Community Center. It was a huge success! Over 80 helmets were given out. A special thank you to Ken Lauffer who had a table representing Ride Education for New Jersey Motorcycle Safety. Appreciation to Neil and Linda for participating by having their beautiful motorcycles for all to see – great photo op! We couldn’t have had this event without all the CERT volunteers who helped.
CERT Volunteer background checks, as of April 16th, have been completed for all except 5 individuals. Thank you to everyone for taking time out of their schedules to complete this requirement.
Maureen reached out to Paul Hawkins about his suggestion of running a drill with the Forestry Department. We’re waiting for more info.
Community CPR/First Aid Course was held April 18th and instructed by Alan Henderson from the American Heart Association, who is also a County Commissioner! This was very well attended and went well. Alan wants to send a special message to our CERT Team, “I give you all a lot of credit volunteering for service for the community.”
