Approval of August 26, 2026 meeting minutes
Fire and EMS Report – EMS: 373, Fire: 182 (as of 9/20/2026)
The last Community Safety Series finished on September 1st. Attendance was low and CERT may consider cancelling the remainder of them.
New Business:
OEM Report: Lisa Chammings
CERT didn’t attend Sussex County Day on September 20th due to bad weather.
The second meeting of the Warren County Historical Society was held on September 16th. Finalizing the details and responsibilities of the Stillwater CERT’s team for the Oktoberfest on October 4th. Bob Wolf and Maureen has set up a team exercise on September 25th during the Midnight Paddle event at White Lake. This will give the team opportunity to work together on site prior to October 4th.
September is National Preparedness Month. Maureen has written an article each week covering different types of preparedness. With the help of the Township Clerk, Valerie Ingles, each article has been posted and sent to other municipalities. Thank you so very much to Val for her help – they’ve been a big hit!
Preparedness presentation was given by Maureen at the MRC Quarterly Meeting held on September 15th in Hamburg, NJ. Topic was Preparedness for All – Young and Old.
Fall Festival application has been submitted to Beth Martin. The event is on October 10th, set up 10am and breakdown is 4pm.
CERT volunteer will be attending an Autism Seminar on September 27th at the Hopatcong Engine Company #3. This is open to everyone. The address is: 43 Hopatcong Road, Hopatcong, NJ 07843.
A suggestion was made by Carol Kuoba to continue to Community Safety Program but in a different way due to lack of participation from our residents. Post a monthly safety article on our Facebook page, allowing residents to read it at their leisure. Goal would be that they then share with families, friends, co-workers, and neighbors.
Fall Clean Up Day will be held on October 3rd from 9am thru 12pm. This will be much needed revenue for CERT, as we will get $300 for the team. Volunteers are needed.
Maureen submitted a quote to OEM to purchase a proper ‘Go Bag’ for our team. This will allow necessary first aid supplies to remain organized when in the field. Not to exceed $70.
Planning ahead: K-9 Tactical First Aid. Maureen is working with an instructor on a location, date, and time. 30 seats will be available. Hands on First Aid with minikins and live K-9 rescue dogs. More info to follow.
