OEM Report: Lisa Chammings
On July 4th & 5th, Stillwater CERT was called by OEM to set up a Cooling Center for the Stillwater’s residents. Power outages and road closures caused many issues for residents. On July 4th, CERT volunteers set up and manned the center, providing for 10 adults and 6 children. CERT provided cold drinks, WiFi, current news updates, charging stations, games, snacks, and lunch. Ken Lauffer used his personal generator to charge cell phones for those who didn’t have power adaptors. This was a huge help. Thank you to Ilene, Connie, Ken, Vince, Doug, Carol, Willy, Suzanne, Barbara, and Lisa for a job well done.
The CERT Community Safety Program that was scheduled for July 7th will once again be rescheduled to August 4th. Maureen will be presenting ‘Safety Slam.’ This will be held at the Community Center from 1pm-2pm.
On May 29th, Maureen presented her essay and application for the Stop the Bleed grant program. We received notification that recipients would be notified by July 2026. Grant awards will be delivered by the end of September 2026.
TIMS Training has been scheduled for August 30th from 6:30pm-10pm at 12 Sparta Ave, Sparta, NJ 07871. Registrations have been completed and uploaded to NJTIM.org. Any changes must be sent to Maureen as soon as possible. No cost to the CERT team. Carpooling may still be available between team members. Please discuss with one another.
On July 14th, in preparation for the upcoming Search & Rescue exercise, a site and planning visit was done by Maureen, John, and Ken. the next exercise will be held after the meeting.
The next CERT meeting will be held on August 26th at 7pm. Meeting will be held at the Community Center.

Respectfully submitted,
