Old Business:
Fire and EMS Report – EMS ____; Fire ____ (year to date).

Community Service Program on January 28th presented by JCP&L was well attended. 50 or so residents and EMS volunteers attended. Our residents’ questions and concerns were addressed by Amy from JCP&L, Lisa from OEM, Mayor Vera, Dave one of our Committee Members.

Thank you to the volunteers who helped with set up and clean up.

Volunteers who completed their required online and Basic CERT training received their safety coats, yellow vests, and head lamps.

OEM report was given concerning the status of the CERT IDs.

Ilene Schwartz worked with community groups securing the first three months of our Community Safety Program. The program calendar was handed out for volunteers to sign up to cover each program. Calendar was posted on the Stillwater Community website and on our CERT website.

Fairview Lake Arctic Plunge was postponed due to an emergency fire call. It has been rescheduled for March 8th.

CERT has received $885.00 in donations thus far. A special thank you to all who braved the cold weather to support Maureen in the plunge!

February 18th was CERTs First Aid Training. 9 volunteers attended and certified for two years through the American Heart Association.

February 21st was the Emergency Ice Rescue Exercise held at the YMCA. It was attended by Stillwater, Hopatcong, and Sparta CERT volunteers. The exercise consisted of classroom presentation and hands-on drills. On shore cold weather operations rescue drills took place. We had 23 volunteers participate and receive certificates.

New Business:
OEM report: Lisa Chammings

CERT is sponsoring an event on March 10th. It’s a Community Safety Program called ‘March Madness’ which will be presented by Lisa Chammings from 1:00pm-2:00pm at the Stillwater Community Center.

An invitation to the March 18th State Evacuation Shelter Exercise was extended to the Stillwater CERT volunteers. If you are planning to attend, you MUST send your completed application to Maureen by March 1st. Please make sure you add ‘Maureen Tsadilas’ and ‘Stillwater CERT volunteer’ to your application. Check in from 8:30am-9:00am. The exercise should finish up around 1:00pm.

March 17th thru March 24th Maureen will be out of state, so Doug and Neil will be in charge.

CERT is sponsoring an event on April 12th. It’s the ‘Helmet Safety Program’ by Avenues in Motion. Applications have been submitted and approved. This is a free community event that will be held at the Stillwater Community Center from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. If weather permits, this event will be held outdoors. Volunteers will be needed. Sign up sheet will be available at our March meeting.

CERT is sponsoring an event on April 21st. It’s the Community CPR & First Aid course. The American Heart Association opened it up to Stillwater residents. Class size is limited. The building use form has been submitted for the use of the Stillwater Community Center. Once approved, the flyer and registration will be posted. Registrations will be handled by CERT. Cost is $70 and will be from 8:30am-2:00pm.

Stillwater Clean Up Day is April 25th. Application has been completed and submitted by Maureen. The meeting location is the horse ring adjacent to the Recycling Center on Fairview Lake Road. The start time is 9:00am. CERT will earl $300.00. Sign up sheet will be available at our March meeting.

May 3rd is a Search and Rescue training with Ramapo K-9 Unit and Hopatcong CERT. This was rescheduled from November 2025. Field use form will be completed and resubmitted to the Stillwater Recreation Commission. This will be held at Veterans Memorial Park. 932 Pond Brook Road, Newton, NJ 07860. It will be held from 9:00am-12:00pm.
