Welcome:
Introduction of our new members to the Stillwater CERT volunteer team
Old Business:
Community Firewise Program is still in the planning stages. The program will be represented by Bardon Smith at the Town Hall meeting on October 7th.
New Business:
Mayor Lisa Chammings – OEM Report.
Fire and EMS Report – EMS 362; Fire 149.
Welcome to our newest CERT members.
Welcome to Jenn Minervino – Presenting the Sherriff Safety Programs.
Maureen has offered to run the last 2 Sherriff Safety Programs. Maureen will make the motion to approve CERT Team to run the quarterly programs for 2025.
Thank you to Carol, Connie, Syrene, and John for making Sussex County Day event a huge success.
On September 18th Stillwater & Hopatcong CERT Volunteers attended the Rail Safety Drill. Stillwater had 6 volunteers attend. Those who participated will provide feedback.
On September 20th a request was sent to our OEM for approval to run the CERT Basic Training Course from November 10th-15th. It will be held at the Stillwater Community Center. Maureen will make a motion to approve CERT to pay for refreshments, but not to exceed $50.
On September 20th, Maureen presented a CERT presentation to the PLA Board Members.
Maureen is working with Patrick from Ramapo K9 Search & Recovery. Waiting on an October date.
On September 23rd a Live Wire Training will be held at the Sussex County Fairgrounds at 7:00pm.
Wilderness Training: this will consist of 2 days with certifcation issued upon completion. Training will be held at the Fairview Lake YMCA Camp. NO OVERNIGHT.
Sign ups are needed for our last community event, Stillwater’s Fall Festival, on October 11th. It will be at the Stillwater Schhool.
Carol’s report on volunteer supplies. Maureen will make a motion to spend funds on supplies.
Doug’s report on his reach trying to find safety coats for the volunteers.
Fall Flu Vaccination Clinics: More to come, current flyer on table.
CERT received a $250 donation from Signature Safety Corporation. Donation will be used for training and volunteer supplies. Thank you, Willy Corbisier, for making this happen. Need to send a thank you card to Signature Safety Corporation.
CERT received a $100 donation as a personal thank you for efforts during Hurricane Erin.
Just a reminder: CERT November meeting will be held on Wednesday 19th due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
There will be no CERT meeting in December.
